I've worked in reproductive health and abortion since 1976. Most of you reading this weren't even a twinkle in your parents' eyes. Many of your parents weren't even born then. So, I guess you could call me a Veteran of Abortion Wars. The right wing hashes and rehashes the same ole stuff. You'd think it would have stopped by now, but they are relentless. That's because this society is creeped out when it comes to talking about sex. This allows the Republicans (yes, them) to really be against sex.
Opposition to abortion and birth control is about nothing more than some prehistoric men trying to maximize their power over women by using the repercussions of sexual activity. And as women gain more power each year, these men get more desperate.
In the past 2 weeks we have all seen the futile attempt of the Republican Party to push the envelope. First, the Komen fiasco; then, the Birth Control fiasco. More ranting below the orange squiggly sperm tracks.
